Capcom Digital Day LA, Part 1:

Downloadable games are getting popular. The new Geometry Wars, Braid, and Pixeljunk Eden have been getting a particularly large lauding by the press and gamers alike. New games are constantly announced for PSN and XBox Live Arcade and Steam is holding down the PC fort with Audiosurf and plenty others. These bite-size games are showing that sometimes the bigger ideas work on the smaller games. Capcom’s caught onto as much, and is offering a whole lot of nostalgia in the form of Bionic Commando and Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo remakes, but they have more still. They invited us to their offices in Los Angeles to show off a couple more of the digital outings that they’re both publishing and developing, Certain Affinity’s Age of Booty, Proper Games’ Flock, and their own super-hyped Mega Man 9. It’s exciting to see such a large company show so much interest in the digitally downloaded world of bite-sized games, and I was eager to see what they had for us. Read the rest of this entry »

[rating]I finally completed a game! I had been so busy during the month of July I had to put all my gaming on hold, and that’s never good:( Well, a few nights ago I completed The Condemned: Criminal Origin and boy was it damn scary. I had played the game briefly while Arena Lounge was still open and thought it was spooky then too. I picked it up again a few months ago, then stopped, THEN found the second game The Condemned:Bloodshot for 30 bucks! I bought it because I had heard such great things about it and told myself I had to complete the first story before moving on the the second. Now I’m ready for it and can’t wait! I’ll let you know what I think once I start playing it….whenever that is.

Written by the creators of the original film in the series, James Wan and Leigh Whannell, the official site for the game, which is slated for release in 2009, has just launched.
Check it out…
